Jake & Co in Fort Madison

Nick and Jake's is a bit pricey for casual dining and it isn't fine dining. That said, it has found that sweet spot. The food is consistently excellent and the staff is friendly. It's always clean. I highly recommend this for anyone wanting to get away for a good dinner.

Nick & Jake's at the bar. Fantastic panko fried chicken sandwich and the super-fat, delicious slab of meatloaf on a bed of mashed potatoes was great. Crispy, thick-cut onion rings also super-tasty.

The salmon was too die for! Most delicious I've ever had. Wonderful mashed potatoes & the broccoli was not over or under cooked AND served hot!! We were a party of 12 and our server never forgot whose order went where! All meals were served at once & hot! Drinks were made quickly and glasses refilled fast! Great menu, wonderful service!

Me and husband went for restaurant week and the food was pretty good. I had the KC Strip smothered in carmalized onions & mushrooms with mashed potatoes and my husband had the Nova Scotia Salmon with rice & asparagus. They were both really good. The service was great & fast. Our server, Jessi, was pretty awesome.

We love Nick and Jake's. Great food. Great staff. We love their weekend brunch buffet.

Catered our wedding - the food was fantastic, not to be surprised, but with a large buffet, still having everything fresh and hot was very impressive! The staff was very friendly and quick and helpful. Such a great experience at our wedding. Everyone LOVED it!

Desserts are the best if you have a sweet craving that won’t be outdone by any other! Varied selections and always on top of presentation! Not a bite to waste!

Food is phenomenal but our server, Isaac, was the reason we will be back to this location. He was honest with us about his opinions on the food and drink since it was our first time there. He was friendly and obviously takes pride in his job, that's something you don't often find in any service industry. The food was amazing, hubby had Grandma's chicken and he LOVED it. I had a filet and Nick and Jake's did not disappoint.

We were greeted promptly! Our server was friendly and efficient! Got our drinks to us in a flash! Great atmosphere. Very short wait for our food, which was piping hot and delicious! Well worth the drive over!!!!

The service was great! We were seated quickly and our server was top notch. The drinks we ordered came out amazing and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken tenders and was not disappointed.

I went on a Monday and one of the specials was catfish which was delicious. In the past I’ve gotten smokey Cajun pasta which was also delicious. Sunday brunch in the past was also great, would love to go again. Overall a very nice local chain.

My family and friends choose this place at random for a night out to eat. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED. although skeptical at first, we all were amazed at how tasteful and delicious the food was here. Every single one of us were blown away at the entrees. Loved the presentation of the desserts, the kids got crackers and grapes to start with, and ended their night with Oreos! This place has really impressed me! Staff was friendly, and well informed on menu items. I think the only compliant was, it was a bit loud being seated by the bar area, but we had fun and really enjoyed our night.

This place is amazing!! The food was beyond delicious and the service was spectacular. Will definitely go again.

It was the worst experience ever. We came before anybody on our side she gave us our drinks three other families came there wish they was white they got all their food and drinks before us we waited 30 minutes before we even got our food before anybody ever came back to the table to check on us. I think it was rude we did not get the same respect I treated the same way like the other families was treated.

The servers, well everyone, was really awesome. All very easy going, but hard working. The food was so delicious. I am in love with Nick's salad! Some of the best chicken fingers I've had, snuck a bite of my daughters. The chicken sandwich was great too. And those fries... Yum! No complaints from our table. Definitely will go back.

Crab bisque was excellent. Jambalaya was good too. Great service

Went here to watch the first half of a game. We were so content with the food and service that we stayed for the entire game. We’ve had many a chicken pot pie in our day and the one here deserves hall of fame status. A crust the doesn’t have a boggy bottom (as they say on the British Baking Show) and it is topped with mashed potatoes.

Their foods are good. I was kinda disappointed because my favorite food that I always order there is out of their menu for now. 😊

I've stayed at the Hamptonand ask the clerk at the counter where I should get some food and he recommended Nick and Jake's. I popped in there around 6 p.m. and it was not crowded at all. Probably from the pandemic. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and it was promptly served. The food was delicious I have the meatloaf. The vegetables were fresh. Highly recommend this place.

Honey these wings are SO DANG GOOD. "big wangz" and huge fried mozzarella Worth every penny. Never disappointed with quality of the food. We have everyone hooked on the food here. My coworkers got wings today and the whole building could smell the heavenly scent and came up asking "who has wings?". Go eat here you will thank me later

Loved the Sunday brunch buffet.

Was absolutely wonderful. My fiance and I had a couple burgers and they were perfect. This has always been a place we brought people to when we were chauffeurs for years and new it was a nice place. Now we live just around the corner and will be there many times to come.

Service was good, food was good. Prices are on the higher end, but I've had more expensive for less tasty food. Apricot Porkchops were great with homemade mashed potatoes (with lumps). Pot stickers were good . Pecan chicken had good flavor, but a tad dry for me, but it was ordered without the honey on top. Was better to me with the honey on it. I will put it on the list to go back to when we are in Overland Park again

Enjoyed cocktails and appetizers during happy hour. Everything tasted great, menu is reasonably priced, the staff was all very attentive and friendly. Clean bathrooms too!

We had an amazing lunch experience. Our server was very attentive. We didn't have an empty glass on our table, dishes taken away.. I had the crab encrusted salmon. It was excellent. Highly recommend. I asked my daughter and son, if they recommend the chicken and waffles, absolutely highly recommended in between bites. The jambalaya was not recommended, he said it tasted good for someplace that is in Kansas. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Kinda disappointed because I wanted to try it next time we are in, but I won't. BLT seemed to be a hit. Overall experience was great.

Excellent food at reasonable prices. My family and I went in for lunch. It had more of a business lunch atmosphere than family, however we felt very welcome and comfortable.

Their appetizers are awesome and very well made. The meat and fried foods were done well, but I ordered the tomato soup and side of broccoli. The broccoli was clearly old (by taste and smell) and had gray spots in the stems where mold had begun to grow. The tomato soup was delicious, but covered in about 2 tablespoons of straight olive oil (on about 1/2 cup of soup). It took several napkins to mop up the oil slick and find the soup. They do bar foods pretty well, but I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here for fresh foods (vegetarians avoid this place). Service was great, though. Our waitress was very helpful and friendly.

Food was delicious! Employees all wore masks. We were originally seated in back room away from other people Only one other table guests. After we received our food they began placing more and more people in the same room beside us. They were way too close. We all (our table) felt uncomfortable. We will not be back.

Do not go here unless you are interested in getting COVID 19. Their tables are not 6 feet apart, even on the patio. No one was wearing a mask except the staff and they didn’t ask guests to put one on either. In fact they doubled down and allowed smoking on the patio! This place is gross and we won’t be back.

I love this restaurants variety of food. Sweet tea is very good. Salas with Tuscany dressing "voila"! Shrimp and grits.... unremarkable... jsut great service, great food, respectful in the sense of The current pandemic (not seated to closely, wiping does tables and seats). I would suggest they go to paper menus instead of the reusable ones. But other than that very good place to visit after being jailed in the house... (smile). Good food relief! Check them out or at least call in a to go order!

It is ALWAYS excellent. No matter how busy they are the service is timely and friendly. The large menu never disappoints. Food is high quality and always delish. It's been our #1 choice for years. 👏🌟

This is absolutely the neighborhood bar around here. You walk in and they know your name, know your drink, know your food! Wow! We know the people and they know us. It’s such a friendly place, great service and food! We were in town for the championship game and had made reservations because there were 14 of us. Seated quickly upon arriving, our server was great and the drinks were fast. Apps were very good and are large enough for sharing. Great selection of many different types of entrees. We will be back next year.

I can in hungry and they didn't disappoint. We sat down in our booth and was not greeted in a timely manner. Our server was very friendly. She had a perky personality, which was refreshing. We ordered a starter, Spicy Thai Shrimp. It was the perfect blend of heat with Thai spice with the shrimp, in my little opinion, it was the best spicy shrimp I've ever had. We ordered the KC Strip, Fried Chicken Salad, and the Smokey Chicken Salad. The strip was grilled, how it was ordered. The pasta was cooked to perfection but the chicken on the salad was cold. The server quickly fixed that problem by getting a new salad with the chicken freshly fried. We enjoyed our meal and I would be back just for the Thai Shrimp.

Great food!!! I had jambalaya and it wasn’t at all over powering with spice. In fact for a person that can’t do spiced food, the spice for the dish was just the right amount... definitely recommend this place for people want something just a little different...
